How to Manually Add the Cyberhook Report Button Add-in to Outlook

Step 1: Access the Add-ins Pane

There are three ways to access the pane where Outlook add-ins can be manually installed:

Option A: Via Desktop Outlook

  1. On Windows: Open Outlook and select File > Manage Add-ins.
  2. On MacOS: Open Outlook and select Tools > Get Add-ins.
  3. On Linux: If using Outlook via a web browser or a compatible email client (e.g., Evolution, Thunderbird with Exchange support), proceed with Option C below.

Option B: Via Outlook Sideload

  1. Navigate to https://aka.ms/olksideload.

Option C: Via Outlook on the Web

  1. Go to Outlook on the Web or the URL where Outlook Web Application is hosted for your organization.
  2. Select any email and click on the three-dot icon near the email subject. Note: There are multiple three-dot menus available. Select the one closest to the email’s subject and toolbar. Accessing Get Add-ins in Outlook Web
  3. At the bottom of the list, select Get Add-ins. Get Add-ins in Outlook Web

Step 2: Add the Cyberhook Report Button Add-in

  1. In the add-ins pane, select My add-ins > Custom add-ins > + Add a custom add-in. My Add-ins in Outlook
  2. Choose Add from URL.... Custom Add-in in Outlook
  3. Enter the following URL and select OK > Install:

Troubleshooting

If you encounter errors while adding the add-in via URL (e.g., error loading the manifest), follow these steps:

  1. Paste the manifest.xml URL above into your web browser. A standard XML output will be displayed.
  2. Save the XML output via File > Save as... > manifest.xml.
  3. Repeat Step 2 above, but instead of selecting Add from URL..., select Add from File... and choose the XML file you saved.

If you receive an error indicating that you are not authorized to install custom add-ins, please contact your Exchange Administrator or IT Helpdesk for assistance.
